Keep Your Mind Alert and Sharp
Now that the holidays are behind us and we are into a new year, many of us make the traditional New Year’s resolutions. Instead of everyone saying they will address health issues by losing weight this year, I am suggesting a different way of addressing our health, such as our mental health. All of us, adults and students alike should make a resolution to feed our minds in a healthy fashion. Choose two evenings a week to turn off the television and read a book or play a game such as Scrabble, Battleship, or Pictionary to stimulate the mind. Enter into on-line chess or checker competitions to keep your reasoning and strategic pieces of your brains sharp. The stimulation of our brain is critical to keeping our bodies and our spirits healthy as well. So, get on the treadmill of brain building by reading a book or playing strategic games. Keep those minds fit. Happy New Year!
